Behind Latter there's Stand Up Norge. And behind Stand Up Norge is Elina Krantz.

Elina Krantz (38) established Stand Up Norge AS in 1997. The purpose was to gather new and old stand up comedians under one common umbrella and to achieve profits high enough to make a living from it. As the years passed Stand Up Norge grew stronger and new goals were set along the way.

During the summer of 2000 the first Stand Up Festival in Norway saw the light of day financed by Ringnes Bryggerier. The Festival has grown into an annual hightlight both for Norwegian comedians as well as the general audience.

Stand Up Norge continued to grow rapidly and Miss Krantz started setting up big scale, all night productions, mainly in Oslo. From 1998 she produced i.e. Jonas Rønning "Stand up & go", Dagfinn Lyngbø Live, Lasse Lindroth "Lei av å være blond" and "3 mot 1 er feigt" by and with Are Kalvø, Espen Beranek Holm and Christine Hope. These productions were presented on different stages around the capital, and as time passed the dream of having an own theatre grew larger by the minute.

In addition to all productions Stand Up Norge had two regular stand up shows at Christian Quart every week. A new goal was set, and the desire was a venue that had not only one big stage to house big productions, but also an intimate stage that could carry on the success from Christian Quart in a less formal environment. Krantz also aspired a venue with a restaurant and a bar that could enable Stand Up Norge to give their customers a total all-night experience. This was the blueprint for the "Venue of her dreams", that at times, seemed to be more like a dream than reality.

In 2004 the old IMAX-cinema at Aker Brygge became available and was to become the answer to her dreams. After 7 months of negotiation, planning and rebuilding, a contract was signed with Lindstow Eiendom, and so; Latter was born.

Latter will always put service, sale and contents as their main priority and will take pride in every pleased guest that has walked in and out our doors, over the last 4 years.
